Today I present a monochrome copy of a Philip de Laszlo portrait of Sophica Jurdens-Roidi, Comtesse des Isnards, 1919. From the de Laszlo Archive Trust, "At least two of de László’s portraits of the Jurgens family were destroyed during the Second World War, making this an important survival." Sophie was born is Greece in 1892, and later married a Dutchman whom she met on a skiing holiday in St Moritz, 1918.
