This is from a portrait of the Ferdinand Philippe, Duc d'Orleans by Jean August-Dominique Ingres or so I thought.  It turns out it's by the "Studio of Jean August-Dominique Ingres" sometime after 1842.  Currently hanging in the National Portrait Gallery in London.

This is a section from a John Singer Sargent painting, "Betty Wertheimer" (1908).

This is from a Jean-François Millet (1814-1875) painting, "Portrait of Louise Antoinette Feuardent" (1841).  I did about eight passes on this one.

Head Study #43

Today I have a section from a Tamera di Lempicka painting.  The weather seemed bad (dark) every time I painted so it took me about ten passes to get this far.  Anyways, I'm tired of it and it's time to move on to something else.

This is from a portrait by the French painter Edouard Dubufe (1855).  My goal is to eventually get a picture like this this done in three sessions.

This is from a pin up photo.  My goal is to get a color likeness in three passes.  In this case it took me five attempts.  I went too dark in the early stages.
