Tonight I post a portrait of the pianist Myra Hess. John Singer Sargent did a charcoal drawing of her in 1920 and I've admired it. Yet I seem to have trouble duplicating it and I can't figure out why. It's not like her hair style is overly complex or anything. So I shall be making several more attempts.
