Tonight I present a picture from an old photograph of Minnie Ashley, 1897. Later, she married William Astor Chanler, who punched out William Randolph Hurst to win her heart. John Singer Sargent painted a portrait of one of her in-laws, Elizabeth Winthrop Chanler, in 1893.

This is another paint that I need to work on. It's another John Singer Sargent, but it's not working for me. It is the opposite of the way I usually work, where it is "subtractive" where the light is subtracted from the total. This paint is "additive", where light is added to the total. Again, I think I need to find the maximum full strength, and then dilute it further.

Today I present a picture of Margot Fonteyn, a ballerina from the 1950s. The paint is a color shifting type that is red from one angle and blue from another. I have some issues that I need to work out with this paint. Perhaps I'm using it at too full strength.

Today I present part of a Pietro Annigoni painting which was described as a "Girl from Ceylon", but I can't find any image of with that title. In spite of that, I did find the model's name is Sharmini Terchelban.
I had a paper malfunction where the stretched paper was pulling out the staples on the left side, so I called it quits on this one.

Today I present another one of those John Singer Sargent charcoal monochromes of Lucy Wortham James, 1922. Lucy’s grandmother was the sister of Robert G. Dun, of Dun and Bradstreet and "inherited a portion of the sizable estate of Robert G. Dun in the form of shares of R.G. Dun & Company. She later became the largest stockholder of the reorganized firm, Dun & Bradstreet, Inc."
