Head Study #125

Today I present a colorized watercolor of a Pre-Raphaelite model Maria Zambaco.  I thought the old photograph had a good range of light and dark, but now I'm not sure why I choose this one.  Not very John Singer Sargent like at all.

Head Study #124

Tonight I present a monotone copy of an old photograph of Princess Marina of Greece, 1920.   I had trouble with her left eye where I moved it around a few times.  But this paint has an easy lifting characteristic where it was possible to do that.  I noticed that this paint, cobalt violet, had a white tinge so I think it has a bit of white mixed in where I can't get a darker mass tone.  So I'll try the next one in ultramarine blue where it is a single pigment and I can get full strength.

Head Study #123

Tonight I post a colorized copy of a John Singer Sargent charcoal of Gladys Mildred Munn Amory Pulitzer, 1922.  I did a reverse image search on it came out to her.  But also Audrey Hepburn and some others.  I think this is following my original goal better than some previous things I've done.

Head Study #122

This is from a random photo I came across.  I did a reverse image search and find she is Vanessa Incontrada, a Spanish-Italian actress and model.  It's amazing how quick the reverse image search can identify people, less than a second.

I just did a reverse image search of my last photo in the progression and it came back as Audrey Hepburn.  So I got some refinements to make.
