Two More...

I had an Acrylic Class

Last week I had a class on acrylic paints.  All part of my search to assemble a "travel" painting kit, where it is more than just portable.  Something that can pass through TSA security and such.  And although acrylic is water based, it still requires mediums which might cause problems with security screening.  So I'm going to go with watercolor at this time.  I've put in orders for equipment which should arrive this week.

Here is the acrylic example from that session.  It was slightly drizzling that day.  And the paint stayed wet for two hours, easily.  That's pretty good for acrylics.

I had a Watercolor Class

Tuesday I had a watercolor session with my teacher Kerry Holsapple.  I was wanting to put together a travel painting kit, which is difficult to do with oils, post 9/11.  So watercolors seemed to be a solution.  The only problem is that I don't know watercolors.  Or I haven't had much success earlier as I never had any good instruction.  Until now.  Here is a quick exercise we did that day.

I think this watercolor stuff may work out nicely.  It occurred to me last night that not only would a watercolor kit pass through checked luggage, it could pass through security in a carry on.  I could could paint in the terminal.   Hell, I could paint in the plane while in flight.  And if I didn't have any water, I could just wait for the complimentary beverage service and the stewardess would bring it to me.

So my impatience got the better of me and I ordered some supplies earlier today.

A Plaster Cast I had Forgotten about

I forgot about this.  I received it earlier this week after spending a year somewhere.  Anyways, it's obviously unfinished.  And since the original set up has been move it will remain unfinished.  The dimensions are about 2 x 1 1/2".  I was overwhelmed by the hair.

Sill more...

Again, some of these drawings will be continuations and further refinements of previous drawings.

Another batch

Here is another group of drawings, about 11 x 17".

So it's been a while...

I got a bit distracted during summer and started doing more drawing than painting.  Almost life size with pencil and Crayola crayon.  I thought I'd post a few example at various stages.  I may post the same piece later where it is further refined.
