Today I present a colorized version of John Singer Sargent's charcoal portrait of Constance Van Rensselaer, 1920. I think she was related or an inlaw to John Singer Sargent in some way. I couldn't find much of a history of her, except tracing her back to other relatives of Sargent.

Tonight I present a colorized duotone of a John Singer Sargent charcoal drawing of Margaretta Drexel, Countess of Winchilsea and Nottingham, 1915. Pretty fancy, huh? As I was setting this up, I poorly estimated the height of the head and had to squich the width of the head in a bit. I shouldn't have written anything and I probably would have gotten away with it. The shininess of the hair, I think it came out okay.

Today I present a colorized duotone copy of a John Singer Sargent charcoal drawing of Lady Elsie Meyer, 1908. I think this approaches the effect I'm looking for. I'll try using different colors in the future. And I'll probably return to this portrait too.

Sorry, I have been pretty poor at photographing the sequence lately. This is the first Miss Germany from 1950, Susanne Erichsen. You know, I just realized that I haven't finished this one yet. Oohps.
