I've admired the "mugs", charcoal portraits, that John Singer Sargent did. But I never attempted one as charcoal has a scratchy blackboard screeching effect on me. However, as I learned about watercolor and the process of lifting, I saw the similarities of charcoal and watercolor. Both are easy to erase in certain circumstances. And watercolor doesn't ever sound like chalk on a blackboard. So here are my first attempts in watercolor. It will take a few tries to figure out how the stuff works.
